ummm, im not necessarily new to guitar playing, but most of the songs i learn i try and move my whole hand to hit the fret with my ring finger instead of using my pinky, id love to know a few tricks to make my pinky more independant.....or any popular songs i can learn that use the pinky finger a lot? and im not positive if this is the right place to make this thread

not a song but what helped me immensely was doin warm ups usin the 3rd and 4th finger on all the frets and doin fingerings like 1-2-4, and 1-3-4. hope it helps

Play a song slower than you normally do and focus more on your pinky than your ring finger, that's what I did

Do things you would normally do with your index finger, with your pinky. Point at people, dial a phone number, pick bills out of your wallet with your thumb and pinky. I say this, because for lacrosse, our left hand skill should be equal to our right, so I began doing things I would normally do right handed, left handed! And it's improved my [lacrosse] game so much! So yeah, just transfer your index finger's responsibilities to your pinky.
