Ok, so I'm just sitting here messing with some 'tallica songs, and think I've finally taken the next step with my picking. Of course the song was Master of Puppets. The one intro that has eluded me for some while. Now I'll spare you guys a cover (for now at least).

So what were you playing when you finally realized you may have reached a turning point in your playing? (Seems a bit on the cheesy side, but I'll take it).

When I first learned a led zeppelin solo...

It was funny, people who were playing for like five years were like "NOOO I DON'T WANNA TRY TO LEARN THE STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN SOLO" (I assume they were lying about that, them playing five years) but when I took a weekend to look through the tabs, guitar in hand, and with every bend hammer on and pull off, I felt myself getting better. Can I play it now without a single mistake?Absolutely...not. That song kicked my ass, but I played it MUCH better then I could way back when. =D

1. Free Bird - "Holy crap, I played a solo!"
2. Sunshine Of Your Love - "Holy crap, I can improvise!"
3. White Room - "Holy crap, wah!"
4. Miserlou - "Holy crap, alt picking and trem picking!"
5. Bohemian Rhapsody - "Holy crap, non-pentatonic scales!"
6. Good Times Bad Times - "Holy crap, mini-riffs I can stick all over the fretboard in solos!"
7. Really most stuff off SRV's debut album - "Holy crap, Eb, hellish bends and awesome picking!"
8. For The Love Of God - "Holy crap, I need a tremolo!"
