Who are some vendors that carry good quality parts for some DIY patch cables? I'm in the early stages of planning my first DIY pedal board, and I want to make some custom-sized, right-angeled patch cables.

I want good quality components (hardware and cable) but I don't want to spend a fortune, either. I've seen photos of DIY connectors that were quite flat -- I'd like to use something like this on my own board to keep things tidy.

Also, what's involved in making a custom DIY patch cable? I haven't found any YouTube videos. I'm assuming I'll need to do some soldering, right? My only experience with soldering so far has been with smaller battery cables for radio controlled airplanes and gliders.
