Hey guys,

I'm rehearsing with my band Anti Icon (www.myspace.com/antiiconmetal) and I use a peavey 6505 head with a Marshall 1960 A cabinet but my other guitarist plays on a 60 watt VOX, but it's really low end and we just can't hear him during the rehearsals (you can hear it on our myspace aswell).

Now he has a Marshall TSL 100 head as well but he can't transport his cabinet to the rehearsals so I was wondering if it were possible to play my Peavey 6505 head AND his Marshall TSL 100 head through the same cabinet (my marshall 1960 A cab)?

I thought I could do that, but is it ok for the cab? Or should I avoid these situations? And how do I wire it up then?

It's not a major problem if it doesn't work but it would help us alot

thx anyway!

it depends, if it has a stereo input it will work. but when you use an cab as stereo the wattage will be split in half so make sure you won't **** your speakers up.

You will be able to do this.... but you will definitely have issues.

The 1960A cab is rated for 120 watts. (unless it has t-75's)

So you are throwing two 100 watt heads on a cab meant to take 120 watts.....

If it were a Vader 4x12... I would say no problem....

Since it has only 30 watt speakers (possibly the 75's in which case you WOULD be okay) it would not be a good idea.

Tell him to get a bloody combo. I never take my stack to rehearsal. I use my combo, it's the same model as my stack except.. A combo. So it's very similar in sound and control.

???????????What you talking about??????
A 1960 cab is rated at 300 watts. (75 x 4)
A 1960V cab is rated at 280 watts (70 x 4)
A 1960C/X cab is rated at 100 watts (25 x 4)

well, we don't really have enough money to buy a quality half stack AND a quality combo...I think there aren't many people who can afford that...
But I get the point...don't play with it, and I won't, I'll just tell him to lean his dad's car or something...
see y'all later!

Flip the switch on the back to stereo, plug in one amp to one input, the other into the other input (will be 8 ohms).

That's it.

I meant on both amps. The Peavey will have a impedance selector, but I think the TSL has seperate ohm jacks.

So it is possible...but is it healthy for my cab? Or doesn't it affect it at all?

It won't hurt anything. All you'll be doing is playing out of two of the speakers for each amp, instead of all 4.

Thanks to Matrixclaw, the day was saved. What happened to most of the logical people on UG? Did they all die in my hiatus?

Just to point out, if you're not using a stereo cab, running two heads into the non-buffered parallel jacks on the back will seriously damage the transformers in both amps.
