While playing legato, though I use the hammer on and pull of techniques, I still cant get that 'fluid' feel into the music. It sounds like I've normally picked the note instead of legato playing. Any of you dealt with this? How do you guys get the fluid feel?

An example is the riff in Hallowed be Thy Name:

-------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------
-------------4---(4)----------4-----------4------
---------4-5--------5-4---4-5---5-4---4-5---5-4--
--7---(7)---------------7-----------7------------
-------------------------------------------------

 C
-------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------
-------------4---(4)----------4-----------4------
---------4-5--------5-4---4-5---5-4---4-5---5-4--
--3---(3)---------------3-----------3------------
-------------------------------------------------

or the intro to Nothing Else Matters. I can play them both faster than the way they're played, but I cant get the same effect. Which sucks.

You are what they call a “rhythm guitarist”. While it's not as glamorous as playing lead you can still get laid. Especially if you can sing and play.
