If i get this right, a Lydian scale goes like such:

1 step, 1 step, 1 step, half step, 1 step, 1 tep, half step, and back to your first note

so a lydian of F is as follows.

F-G-A-Bm(A#)-C-D-Em-F

yes?
if not help me please

No. A lydian scale is a major scale with a sharp 4th.

I.E. 1 2 3 #4 5 6 7. Which step-wise translates to W W W h W W h.

Since the parent scale of F lydian in C, since F is the fourth note of the C major scale. therefore F lydian is F G A B C D E F.

Intreval: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Notes: F G A B C D E F
spacing: W W W h W W h

No. It should be D E F# G# A B C# D.

The parent scale of D lydian is A Major, which is A B C# D E F# G# A. Lydian is the fourth mode of the major scale so starting at the 4th note (D) you get:

D E F# G# A B C# D

OR

as I said above, lydian is just a major scale with a #4th. D major is D E F# G A B C# D, so if raise the fourth by a semitone you get D E F# G# A B C# D. which is basically the same thing.

Sorry if I confused you with this post I just explained it in two different ways. both are right. it is just that one might be slightly more confusing than the other.

So basically you take a major scale,
look at the fourth note,
and copy the rest?

More or less. that is the idea . Just think of lydian as a major scale with a #4th, the rest stays the same.

check this out:

http://www.godrex.com/majormodes.htm - - I find it helpful, time to time....

here's a thing I did, experimenting with the lydian sound:

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=795734&songID=6185395

starts off in C lydian (playing a Gmajor scale over a C bass note) - then switches to E lydian (Bmajor scale over an E bass note), back to C lydian and then switches to G blues/dorian/minor/pentatonic, repeat twice...

Lydian is by far my favorite mode.
