Just get it cut a little. It will grow back. Besides why is it so important to look metal? That's just retarded.

Gary Jules - Mad World

I am actually doing my own guitar version of Mad World for Newgrounds, except I am keeping it real, playing the exact thing you hear, and playing it clean with some chorus and reverb.

I think it sounds amazing when it's played well. To be honest, I do prefer the piano version though.

In comparison to the piano this comes off very poorly on guitar.
In my opinion it degrades the composition. So why do it? Transcriptions ought to bring something worthwhile or new to a composition, not merely result in some pale reflection. Same with many Chopin transcriptions and Paganini caprices for solo violin, they don't sit well on guitar.

Not so with most of Bach or works of the Spanish nationalists that are also commonly transcribed for guitar.

Edit Albeniz's Cordoba and Sevilla also suffer on the guitar, Cordoba looses the profound sustain of the opening chords and Sevilla looses key elements of its texture at the first modulation. Yet people persist in playing them, I can only assume they haven't heard the piano versions.
