I'm looking at getting a new amp, but it only comes in a head. I know you really shouldn't crank a 50 watt amp through a 60 watt cab. But is it possible to crank a 50 watt amp through a 100 watt cab without blowing the speakers or harming their longevity?

it depends how high you're gonna crank it. if you have your amp on 8-10 a lot of the time, that could wear down on a 60watt cab. i doubt you'd be cranking it that much though, and with a 100watt cab basically you should be fine.

I'm pretty sure that you can only damage your cab if it's less wattage than the head.
