ok, so a few weeks ago my friend gave me a Danelectro FAB Metal Distortion Pedal. i had to mess around with it till it worked. It's worked fine up until last night.

Last night I was practicing, and I took an hour break. When I got back, I turned the pedal back on, and all I got was a High-Pitched squeal. i tried many different possible solutions, and none worked. Help? >.<

Hmmm... strange. Only thing I can think of is if you're using a battery and left it on for an hour while you had a break maybe your battery is on the way out. You could try changing it for a new one or using an AC adaptor that's about all I can think of

I don't think I left it on O_o
Although it's a possibility..
Would a dying battery cause that?

I wouldn't have though so, usually the signal just gets cruddy and loses volume but you never know.

Yeah, The power won't turn on unless the input cord is plugged in..but I swear I shut it off by the foot switch o-o

Alot of pedals(especially cheaper ones) dont switch the power off when you bypass them. I know my Korg Pitchblack doesn't, and its not really low end. If you left the cord in the input, then chances are the battery may have gone out. But I wouldn't think just 1 hour would drain it that bad, I leave the cord in my Pitchblack for a week and a half to 2 weeks before the battery goes out.

That happened to me with this old behringer tube overdrive I used to own and it also happened with my MI AUDIO Crunch Box through an AC30, it worked through all other amps but it made a loud squealing sound through the AC30. Maybe that little bit of information can help you find your problem

i think the AC port on the pedal is broken, because whenever i plug it in, it just akes a low hum, and no sound from the guitar comes out of it. :P
