i've always found pop to be harder to play than metal... especially shred metal... it's just really fast tremolo picking and the occasional palm mute... and the only chords you have to worry about are power chords...

She'll need to work on her coordination.

Get her to play quavers on the hi-hat.
On beats 1 and 3, hit the bass drum.
On beats 2 and 4, hit the snare drum.

Remember to play the hi-hat whilst hitting the snare/bass drum, and maintain a steady, continuous rhythm.

Beat 1 ftw.

Try an easy beat like 1979, by the Smashing Pumpkins. It was my first, and I'm currently very much a beginner on drums.
Call me Jack.

Woman tone, eh?

Set treble to PUT THE TOILET SEAT DOWN WHEN YOU'RE DONE
Mids to YOU'RE DRIVING TOO FAST
Bass to WHAT DO YOU MEAN, "MAKE ME A SANDWICH"?
Gain to NOT TONIGHT, I HAVE A HEADACHE.

play New Millenium Cyanide Christ from Meshuggah, if she can't play that straight off then she sucks, has no talent and should burn her kit.

I'm serious, there is no room in this world for drummers who can't even play that stupidly simple song.

Learn some ACDC.

Even though some of their songs may not be very hard, they sound cool as anything.

Try to teach her Reptilia by The Strokes.

It should be simple enough.
