And I'm kinda still in shock...
On one hand, it was unimaginably ****ed up and ultra violent.
On the other it was a deep social commentary

So for those of you who have seen it, what do you think of it?
Do you think it could have done what it intended as far as making a statement without the violence?

This is just a general discussion of the movie basically.

Just wiki'd it, and it seems like a very gory, intense movie. Not really my style, but I hear there were some naked chicks in it.

It's brutal guys. Not too bad, I mean, didn't bother me but for most people it's bad. They tore apart a live tortoise and ate it's insides. Quite graphic. A few nude scenes, nothing really that bad.
Add me or I will eat your kitty!

A friend of mine that loves these kinds of movies said that it sucks and isn't that gory. He watched "Guinea Pig: Flower of flesh and blood". Told me that he couldn't get past the first quarter.

Of course sticking a rock inside a woman's vagina isn't gory at all.

I recently watched Saw IV. Is it as bad as that? Or worse?

I personally found Saw to be disturbing and pointless, but not too bad.

my friend, [EnemyWolf] watched that junk and told me it was really disgusting.

didnt they actually kill the animals or something?

im no animal rights activist, but if they actually killed any mammal on set, that is wrong.

birds, reptiles, fish, etc. whatever.

for some reason i think mammals are more conscious and intelligent than other phyla.

EDIT: Unless they MUTILATED the turtle, then i personally have no problem. Killing is one thing, mutilation is enjoying its death (which i dont like at all)

i've always found pop to be harder to play than metal... especially shred metal... it's just really fast tremolo picking and the occasional palm mute... and the only chords you have to worry about are power chords...

I don't watch gory movies,
mostly because I like to eat Italian food.
Blindfolds aside I'd probably still close my eyes

And try to feel a trembling fetal life inside
that shotgun barrel that's about to make me bleed

Even if there is a point to it, it's pretty shallow. Even the director himself admitted it was a snuff film.

Of course sticking a rock inside a woman's vagina isn't gory at all.

Actually, not gory at all in comparison to other things.
The second video, Za ginipiggu 2: Chiniku no hana (1985) is said to be based on a snuff film sent to the director Hideshi Hino by a crazed fan. In it, a man dressed as a samurai drugs a woman and proceeds to cut her apart, and finally adds her body parts to an extensive collection. The snuff film rumour has been shown to be a contemporary legend; the film was in fact based on a manga about a florist who kills women and uses their dismembered parts as the seed of his beautiful flower arrangements. Most of this element of the story is cut out for the making of Guinea Pig due to the low budget and need of shock value. In fact, the actor playing the killer is the creator of the 1970s manga from which the story is derived.

After viewing a portion of this film, actor Charlie Sheen was convinced the murder depicted was genuine and contacted the MPAA, who then contacted the FBI. FBI agent Dan Codling informed them that the FBI and the Japanese authorities were already investigating the film makers, who were forced to prove that the special effects were indeed fake [1][2] [3] (similar to what Italian film director Ruggero Deodato had to do with his film Cannibal Holocaust). The band Skinny Puppy wrote the song "The Mourn" after discovering the video and believing it authentic. When they later learned it was a fake they incorporated clips of it into their live stage show.

Have fun sleeping tonight .

I just watched both. They really aren't anything scary. Flowers of Flesh and Blood is just gory, detailed cutting, and Cannibal Holocaust is just the same ****, except less in-depth in cutting, and with a slight plot.

Anyone have anything scarrier/harder to get through watching? These things hardly effect me.

Hm. I'd have to say, the movie is really insightful on how there are still people around. I was quite shocked at how the 4 documentary people on the 'discovered' film can things acted towards the natives though, they were just as bad.
#34
^ I agree. They were terrible.

The movie is hyped up to be far scarier than it actually is, which disappointed me a little.

It's not super scary or the most gory thing ever. It's just rather realistic and thought provoking for an exploitation film. Much of it is shot like a documentary and it's pretty realistic looking.

The grossest thing is when they cut open a turtle to eat it and it's organs are all throbbing and wet.
