Top Gear is a motoring show on BBC. It first started in 1977 as a conventional motoring magazine show. Over time, and especially since a relaunch in 2002, it has developed a quirky, humorous style. The show is presented by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May and The Stig, an anonymous test driver.

Once, they had this V8 blender on the show. They blended raw meat and a brick and some other things into this soup. It was pretty cool.

i only seen the Ford Fiesta test.. It was funny.

One of the tests:

Can it out run the baddies in corvettes through a shopping center?

it was so funny watching them drive through the shopping mall.

Also the bit where they guy took the ford fiesta onto the battle field at some place with the boats and stuff and the guy said "Would you look at that? The smart grenades fit perfectly in the cup holder!"

Tehehe. Funny. Must watch that another time.

Best test:

Comparing girls getting ready to a night out to a team of Rally mechanics replacing all the moving parts on a car.

Guess who won.

That was filmed in Festival Place Basingstoke. Heh, they got it trouble for knocking over that manikin and the marks on the floor are still there iirc.
My sister was in the studio for that episode too.
Also, smoke grenads, not smart

Clarkson is a complete tosser unless he's asking for a smoke.

Lastly, I wish they'd stop destroying classic cars. The Polonez pickup they destroyed is incredibly rare now. Only 17 left in the Uk.

They've always put brilliant music in the show, actually, they use great moments of flim-score, too, and the cinematography in last night's episode was amazing.

It has become a bit celebrity driven, and overproduced in recent years, but I really don't mind. I know there's a fair amount of scripting, as there would be, but at least it is written by Jeremy, James and Richard.

I still love the programme, the "practical and realistic" test of the latest Fiesta was absolutely hilarious. "Can I afford it? Well, if you have over £11,000 to get a decent mid-range model, then yes, you can!" This latest series was much better than the one in the Spring, too.

I think the series that was on over the summer was the best one for ages, the Alfa Romeo challenge was hilarious! You've got to love May and his Dacia Sandero as well.

My personal favourite was the amphibious cars crossing the channel. Oh, and James' attempt at flirting the other week. That was priceless.

No, the summer series seemed a bit too samey, for me, the Dacia stuff was funny, but it happened every show, and got pretty old. The Alfa challenge was great fun, though.

Meh its getting to cheesy and over produced now.

+1, its all way too scripted now, i've chosen not to watch most of the series thats just finished. but the vietnam one last night was pretty good, since alot of that couldnt be scripted.

i agree, they chose it because it was all from the vietnam war era, hendrix, the doors etc.

I liked the Vietnam episode though, and the Ford Fiesta test too.

It's always been scripted and structured, and nearly all TV is. I don't mind the fact that it's structured and planned, since Clarkson, May and Hammond all write it themselves; if there was no script, it would ramble and be filled with silences where the presenters don't know what to say next.

For some reason I absolutely pissed myself when they were talking about the car merchandise christmas presents and Richard pulls out the wizard's sleeve. I have no idea why I found it so hilariously funny.
