So I was gonna redo my Les Paul but the price i figured i could just get a new guitar.

SO... I'm lookin for a new quality, guitar. Please don't recommend any Ibanez though because i dont want the same guitar as my bro. Unless U found a Prestige for cheap.

But Anyway here's my guidelines. It needs to be below $299, preferably $250.
If it helps I play Metal ( Children of Bodom, As Blood Runs Black, All That Remains), so lot's of down tuning.
Anyways just throw suggestions at me.

EDIT: maybe 350-375, but it better be a damn good guitar

Kind of a low price for that.

Unless you're willing to go higher, I would suggest new pickups.

Yeah that's All I got.

What if I bumped to 350-375? But I definitely cannot go any higher than that.

well i was looking at some but i dont want the gax70 or whatev because i dont want the same one as my bro.
ive seen those prestiges and DAMN! but how much does a good one cost?

rondomusic.com check out the Agile AL-3000. But they are only sold at rondomusic.com. I heard the customer service is good if you don't like it you can return it no questions asked.

-esp/ltd Ax-50
-esp/ltd Mh-50 Nt (non-trem)
-esp/ltd Mh-50 (trem)
-esp/ltd F-50

Any of these, and you'll be rocking out in no time.

Also, DON'T get an Agile. They aren't great quality. CHEAP electronics and pickups. Inconsistent quality.

If you're hell bent on an Agile, it's going to need new pickups and electronics. It'd be cheaper and easier to get something good instead.

best thing for u to do imo is just plan for a weekend or a day or however long u think its gonna take to just go to whichever store ur planning to buy from and play all the guitars within ur price range.

Even go a little higher than ur price if need be cause you never know what you'll find.

Also try not to let the guitar's looks turn u off if its not ur taste, u never know if its an awesome guitar to play.

I play metal too, and i found ibanez guitars to be great for playing metal because of their necks. But then again that's all a matter of opinion.

Another thing, you seem to be pretty serious about playing guitar so instead of going with a cheap guitar look for something around the $800 plus range, even if it takes u 5 months of crappy part-time work washing cars to get it.

Having a nice guitar to play is worth the money.

Anyways, like i said before, just play lots of guitars and see what u like.

just a quick hint to everyone, if you are going to get the guitar at guitar center, esp's/ltd's are out of the question because guitar center doesn't carry those.

that's why u couldn't find it on their site

Pretty sure they start at $900 new and non-blem.

TS, try www.rondomusic.com and look at the Agiles. Those are good for the price.

Otherwise, try the Schecter sunset deluxe or omen 6. Sunset is 350, omen is 300.
Or, if you like thinner necks, the RG321 or RG2EX1. Maybe an RG3EXFM1.

Also, keep your eyes peeled for used stuff at Guitar Center. Sometimes they have good deals.

Ibanez is a great guitar for metal. I have a RG370DXGP4 (which has a Edge III Trem) and a RG2EX2 (RG2EX1 is basically the same). I recommend the RG2EX1 because its fixed (no Trem), its 299.99, it has Ibz V7 and V8 (which are Pickups designed by EMG). I've been covering Killswitch Engage, BFMV, Atreyu and 36 Crazyfists. I have to say its pretty awesome.

I'd avoid the low end LTD's. Agathis just isn't that great of a tonewood.
