New song for my band. Included midi, GP4 and 5.2. Lyrics are here, again, not very good but I like them.
Music is a mix of Black Dahlia Murder, Bleeding Through and a bit of Empyrean (in my opinion anyway).

Will gladly do C4C since I'm in a good mood.
Enjoy.

[Intro - B]
Of cursed flesh, of blighted skin
my mottled green, my rot within
Of forlorn face, of tragedy worn
My silk and flesh and heartfelt scorn

[verse 1]
Silent tomb, from the world I despise
My unearthly bonds, and a ghastly reprise
End of my life is now the end of the world
Of silence and storms, and the darkness unfurled

[Bridge]
Unleashing a miasma on this
wretched earth I walk upon
Sip of wine and a cursed reverie
And drink to the end, of this blood stained memory

[Verse 2]
I walk in through the valley of death, hand in hand
My love and I, a plague on this land
A mixture of soil and of cold hate, warm blood
And infinite agony reigns down like a flood

[Verse 3]
Nothing matters, no pain will be spared
I'll burn down your cities, my joy, your despair
And if she can't be mine, then no one's she'll be
And the wine turns to black and the earth to debris

[Chorus]
Necromantic, of Lust and love
From bonds of the earth to the bonds of above
When faith and grace are naught but entwined
When orchids and blackwine are all of mankind

[Chorus 2]
I see you've fallen far
The single weeping star

[Breakdown]
I see you've fallen far
My single weeping star

[Re-intro]
Of cursed flesh, of blighted skin
my mottled green, my rot within
Of embracing lovers, decaying with sin
And centuries of torment in blood wretched skin

[Verse 4]
Twisted glee and a black ashen smile
While rivers run red, as the biblical nile
And ending this bloodshed, absolution at hand
A choir of angels in a blackened plague land

[Bridge]
Unleashing a miasma on this
wretched earth I walk upon
Sip of wine and a cursed reverie
And drink to the end, of this blood stained memory

[Verse 5]
Nothing matters, no pain will be spared
I'll burn down your cities, my joy, your despair
And if she can't be mine, then no one's she'll be
And the wine turns to black and the earth to debris

[Chorus]
Necromantic, of Lust and love
From bonds of the earth to the bonds of above
When faith and grace are naught but entwined
When orchids and blackwine are all of mankind

[Chorus 2]
You see we've fallen far
A pair of weeping stars

That song is EPIC.
The guitar parts are really nice, the Synth and Piano fit nicely aswell.
Congrats.

Edit: The harmony in the solo is amazing.

Haha, Magero makes very listenable music, I've found out. The song is great, man, the mood/atmosphere of it really clicks with the lyrics. It's comparable to The Moor in that way, I think.

That song... has left me speechless. You've taken a very generic idea and made it absolutely astounding. I tip my hat to you good sir. That song was great. I still have chills from the guitar solo...

:EDIT: Oh, BTW. This song reminds me more of Abigail Williams than Bleeding Through, etc... just it doesn't suck like Abigail Williams does. Lol.

That song was great man. The only thing I would change is the transition into the re-intro sounds weak when compared with the rest of the song, but hell thats probably just the **** RSE.

Amazing song dude, please tell me when this is recorded.

I should advise that I loathe RSE and only have 5.2 because it also fixes a few bugs that 5 had. I never use RSE and I advise to keep it turned off as any synths will be out of time.

Thanks though, to everyone so far. This was about 3 weeks work. The re-intro was originally just the strings from the verse which sounded even weaker, but it works well enough now.

Nun: I quite like early AW, as much as the new album is bland So I take it as a compliment anyway.

Thanks again. I really appreciate the kind words. It makes me glad to prove that bassists are good for something other than just keeping the beat

wow, veeery nice melodeath song. Love the piano intro with the strings. Piano from bars 13-16 was very nicely phrased, and I loved how you cross faded with the dark TBDM style riff in intro B. Sounded incredibaly awesome. Love the dark melodeath riffage in verse 1, once again, very TBDM-esque, but the strings were so great behind everyhting. I usually don't really care for fast tremolo picked riffs, but I loved the dark melody you created with it in the bridge. Key change in verse 3 was very black metal-esque imo, love it.

Chorus and chorus 2 were both great, but I would've liked to see a little more phrasing instead of mostly 8th notes. Piano in the breakdown fit perfectly. Re-intro flowed well and it was nice to hear that melody again.

The little piano interlude was placed perfectly, and I liked hearing the chorus again. Harmonized solo/outro was awesome, although I would've liked to hear a little more colorful phrasing but it sounds fine as it is.

Overall, this is quite an awesome melodeath song, I really enjoyed it a alot, but I would've liked to hear the bass come out more. That's really the only thing I don't like about most music in this genre, the bass just gets completely overlooked, but whatever, it's still an awesome song, and the drums were good as well.

I'd appreciate it if you could give my newest song a look (bottom of my sig)

Cheers for that man.
The reason the bass doesn't stand out as much (even though I'm a bassist) is because my band plays in Drop D, but I've stayed in Standard on a 5-string, so I just have to move around the notes a bit. It just means the stretches become well... impossible to follow the guitar. It doesn't bother me, as I have other songs where I get to show off a little and in this one, I've got some backing vocal ideas

Thanks again and I'd be happy to check out yours.

I'm impressed, Magero. You've inspired me to finish writing my own song, which will be rather ****ty in comparison. But this right here is a piece of quality melodeath if I've ever seen one. It's hard to write melodeath that isn't trite and cliche, but you've managed to write something pretty unique.

Way to go.

That was awesome man... well done. I can hear what you mean about the TBDM and Empyrean, but I agree with Tehzekester, you've definitely managed to find a unique sound.

I'm sure your band is going far!

if only the bass were as epic... you should really record it seeing as you actually have a band... whats the point of making it GP when u can record it and make it sound soooooooooo much better?

^Because we write all our material in Guitar pro then send it to each musician, we learn it and then practice it and then play it. Besides, we're recording in late Jan and then again in May. This song won't be one of the ones recorded, but for now it's just finding the money to be able to make a recording that will do our current material justice.

This is awesome, I liked everything, and there's nothing to complain about. All the transitions were nice, and the piano in the breakdown worked perfectly! The use of the piano throughout the whole thing, actually, was done very well. The re-intro was perfectly placed, nice work.

The lyrics are also very good, except the constant rhyme bothers me. If the lyrics weren't so good the rhyme really would of brought them down a lot, but only does so a little bit. Great job overall.

I liked it, It's a good basis to a song but i think you need to expand on it, spice it up a little more -

Rhythmically, I think it needs more variation. Like it had a lot of 8th notes for a whole bar for a while then a bar of 16th notes and then back again. Try spicing it up a little - more syncopation, tuplets, dotted notes, just generally more variation. And don't be tied to starting every phrase on the first beat of the bar.

Harmonically too, I think it deserves more spice. Try extending/substituting chords - like in the melodic sections (the piano bits especially), i think flat 9ths / diminished 7ths would go nicely. maybe even sneak in some augmented or altered (7b5 or 7#9b13). The chords were generally quite good though, there was one part in the middle where the chords just went up in step which i think you should make more interesting, but apart from that they all worked.

And melodically, try using more colours.. Like, using double harmonic minor in places instead of just plain harmonic or natural. and maybe use some rogue/passing notes to add interest.

But yeah, it's a good basis to a song, I just think it deserves more spice

^I don't know much on theory, could you explain the difference between double harmonic minor and "plain harmonic minor" ?
I'm intrigued now.

Double harmonic minor is more badass. lol.

No seriously, It has a #4 as well as a #7, so, for example in A, it would be:

A B C D# E F G# (A)

I usually use it simultaneously with harmonic minor rather than exclusively. Especially if i'm playing its phrygian mode, i'll basically use both in the same scale, like:

E F G# A B C D D# E

If there's anything more you want to know, just ask. mmm spicy scales.
wat.

Nah, cheers for the tips, I'll have a fiddle with the song a bit later. I definitely know what you mean about the 'straight 8ths" and then "straight 16ths" stuff. As a bassist who's just learning guitar now, it's a bit hard for me to wrap my fingers around some stuff hehe.
