It's not like Christian Rock has a specific sound. What do YOU want?

why should christian rock be any different? couldn't you just paint a crucifix on it or something?

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

That stuff's everywhere where I live.

alot of the bigger hardcore/ metalcore bands ive heard have been christian. Theres quite a few main stream bands that are christian.

TS are you talking about christian rock as in rock music that the artists are chrstian or worship music. Because if its the first one any pedal can be used since its just rock. The other one delay, chorus, reverb, maybe phaser.
#15
are you the guitarist from stryper?

I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

sadly, because you used the word "christian", alot of immature posts are bound to follow. But to answer your question, it depends on what type of tone you're going for. If it's just the typical rock distortion, then most distortion or overdrive pedals can get you the sound you need, just try them out at a store if you get the chance.
#22
I know a lot of artists from the genre, any particular artist your going for and i can help with a more specific answer.

you brought it upon yourself really. i mean, you still haven't explained how the rock music you play is any different to anybody else's rock music. we are supposed to understand that purely on the fact that you are a christian.

that's why everybody has been having a laugh over this.

Actually, I believe it's 'Godcore'.

What about a tuner? Every Christian I know doesn't know how to tune their guitar, so I think that would be handy.

/ignorance

A delay would probably be good, or a reverb pedal if the amps you use don't have 'verb.

I believe it's 'Jesuscore', as not only Christians believe in God. Though not only Christians believe in Jesus, so I dunno.

I guess it's what you want, threadstarter. I have no idea what Christian rock sounds like, but I doubt it's all the same kinda thing, so you have to tell us what effects and tone you want.

Lousy?

Seriously though, I don't think there is any unique tonal element to "christian" rock. The TS should give us some idea of what he is looking for.

Did anyone say "chorus" yet?

Don't get a Boss Metal Zone...it's awful. (personal expierence)
I'd suggest trying out a pedal in real life, because only you can decide if you like it. Some people may suggest you a pedal but then you don't like it.

...seriously?

Christian rock is entirely based on lyrical style, not music....

That could be a pedal for anything from underoath to switchfoot to relient k to w/e the ****ty overtly christian bands are...

If you are talking christian rock as far as I know most of them just use a marshall amp like a jcm800 and over drive it with a tube screamer.

Just go get a digitech tube overdrive or a ibanez tube screamer. You'll be set.

Theres not a specific one good just for Christian music. Thats like asking what a good pedal for Christian death metal is. Metal is metal and rock is rock. Just look up some of your favorite bands and see what they are using then see what your budget in tells. As for what pedal a Keeley DS1 would be nice
