Okay, this will be my first tube amp and I have no idea the difference between a Good tube or a Bad tube. I'm trying to get the best for my $$$. About me:

-I play a Fender Fat Strat
- Mostly late 60s rock (think Black Sabbath), but I like smooth cleans (think of the Carpenters)
-budget is $600

Oh yeah, I'm also considering getting a Double MUFF pedal, but idk yet...

I like my Epiphone Valve Junior, but I'm not an expert on amps. It distorts nicely when you crank it, and it can play some really nice cleans at a decent volume.

I'm not sure he needs that much gain. A valveking with a speaker change might be a good option. It does that doomy dark kind of distortion well. A Classic 30 may be a good choice too

I'm selling a brand new Peavey 6505 for $500 right now. 5 months old, never gigged with, only a few rehearsals. It didn't do it for me. I find it to be cold, harsh sounding amp.

You can view pics my photobucket account , and yeah, that's a custom faceplate.

Wound up (happily!) with a Mesa Triple Recto 3 channel solo custom. I needed the switching options and versatility.
