The guy has got talent! And he's from Pakistan of all places! This just brings a question into my mind - are there any other guitar geniuses in the South Asia region? I mean this guy is really good, it would be fun to discover some more hidden gems from unlikely places

?

Why is Pakistan unlikely? And what makes him a genius?

And anyone notice tuning or intonation issues in all the songs? I dig him for the most part, but the tuning or intonation is kinda bugging me.

EDIT: Sounds more like a one hit wonder to me, lawl.

It's kinda boring. What's so great about?

Condemned by what you condemned before
Smooth are the words you sing down and high

The guy's name is Faraz Anwar. His band's name is Mizraab. Check out some more of hsis stuff - just search on Youtube. Sound technique + musically powerful too. And how often do you hear of guitar players from Pakistan??
#13
Who cares where he is from lol?

He's a good player but he's not really an amazing writer.....

Sigh do you think people from South Asia don't play guitar well? I'm from South Asia but sadly I'm no 'genius', but my friend can 'rip' it up on the electric.

Petrucci? I see no resemblance to Petrucci, just Malmsteen.

Sorry for bringing this up, but did anyone else using internet explorer realize that the title, due to lack of space says 'A guitar Genius from the most unlikiest of places - paki'

The Berklee thing sounds Malmsteen, everything else sounds Petrucci.

oh ****-
like the Korn or Metallica of Pakistan~!

Geez, no need to insult the kid.

And that was excellent, but I think 'genius' is a bit of a stretch.

He was good
I mean I wouldn't call him a genius.

...but then again didn't Kurt Cobain make like top 10 best guitar player or some ****
#32
I think it's very condescending, ignorant and quite frankly, insulting of you to consider it so unlikely that a country which you most probably know nothing about, could produce musical talent.
#33
Lol . Had I been a Pakistani, all of u would have been ripping me apart with comments like "There are guitar players in Pakistan too?" rather than calling my approach condescending. Thts why I love UG. Bloody diplomats
