I'm not sure if this is the right area to post this but

I've been doing alot of google-ing and can't find any custom RSE presets... you guys may think it a bit stupid but im shocked that no one has even bothered to open up the preset files with a text editor, edit the files to make it sound better and share their contributions

as a result, i've decided to take it upon myself to work on this, heres a quick example of a whacky tone produced with a high speed chorus stomp box being applied to a clean amp

to install, extract the .fx file to a folder in your guitar pro rse presets

i would suggest making a new folder such as "custom" for to find easier within guitar pro, to use the preset

launch up guitar pro, select your instrument and bring it up to the window for instrument select or w/e, under rse's, where you have your tone types(like amp tones, drum tones etc) select whichever folder you put the preset under(thats why I have the "custom" folder) and then underneath that, select the preset

im still curios as to why I have not found any custom presets on the internet yet, dispite how easy I found it to make a custom preset(the whacky effect is just an example)

put the .fx file into a folder in the guitar pro rse presets folder

so its

c:\Program files\Guitar Pro\rse>presets\folder you want\file goes here
I put mine in a custom folder, should be something like the thing above

then you load the preset in guitar pro as you would any other preset, select the category the preset falls under(ie amp tones, bass tones, drum tones, or a folder you made or w/e) and select the preset

There are two folders; fx and bank

hey man, now that youre a pro in that, give a bit of a tutorial

so ive opened British Stack Dist (im using GP5.1 but anyway, hope it doesnt differ)

######################################
# REALISTIC SOUND ENGINE PRESET FILE #
######################################

[Stompbox1]
Type = E05
Drive = 10
Tone = 9
Level = 9

[Amp]
Type = A06
Gain = 8
Low = 2
Mid = 8
High = 2
Presence = 6
Volume = 7

[Stompbox2]
Type = E30
Time = 6.1
Level = 10

[Stompbox3]
Type = E35
100Hz = -3
200Hz = -3
400Hz = -3
800Hz = -3
1.6KHz = -3
3.2KHz = -3
6.4KHz = -3

What to do with the stompbox? , the amp is doable

EDIT
I also found this cool things to mess around

[Delay]
Delay = 250
Decay = 0.5
Max Channels = 0
Dry Mix = 0.80
Wet Mix = 0.10

[Reverb]
Room Size = 0.83
Damping = 100
Pre Delay = 0
LowPass = 100
HighPass = 100
Wet Level = -40
Dry Level = 0

yea I was building a guide.txt, still havn't got all of the stomp box things but for stomp boxes, its pretty self explanitory,

for overdrive stomps,

[Stompbox#]
Type = (E02 = Rat, E03 = Blues Overdrive, E05 = screamer, E06 = Grunge Distortion, E07 = Distortion+, E09 = Pi Distortion, E11 = Metal Pedal, E13 = Boutique Fuzz)
Drive =
Tone =
Level =

the drive, tone, and level you'll have to experiment with, however, try to keep them under 10(you can also use negatives)

for phaser and chorus:

[StompBox#](Chorus)
Type = E25
Speed =
Depth =
Color = 3200(not sure what this does)
Level =

[Stompbox#](Phaser)
Type = E19
Speed =
Depth =
Level =

depth is usually fairly high in those, level up to 100 (i used 100), speed, well thats self explanitory, how fast do you want the effect to go

i should put up a complete guide for this, its fairly simple to work out, but im still getting different stomp box effects sorted out etc.

I find it much easier to route GPs MIDI output to a sampler with a guitar patch loaded, RSE is terrible.

I've also tried to modify and add some presets. I can handle pretty well the delay and reverb functions, and made a few U2 and Satch delays. However I can't handle stompboxes at all.
To me, good sounding presets are located in Legend Tones (Satch, Zakk Time, Single, Andy, ...). But many of those use Stompboxes like E24, E26, ..., and I can't find those in the Amp Tones Presets, so I still don't know what they stand for. Modulation, that's for sure, but whether it is a vibrato/autowah/tremolo/flanger, this I don't know. There are also nice sounding amps like A11 which aren't used in Amp Tones.

Is there some sort of list/guide somewhere, to translate those "Names" ?
(For example A01=Vox AC30; A02=Fender Deluxe Reverb; A03=Fender Blues Deluxe; A04=Marshall JTM45; ...)

i hate the rse on guitarpro i dont even use it i just use the midi

I think there are two different RSE things.
There's one we have on the computers at college which is absolute gash. Then theres some other ones i have on my home computer which isn't so bad, still room for improvement, but tolerable.
