What's a good tube half stack for a 7-string guitar with loads of distortion? If possible can you put your answer like this:

1. Head - Cost (if you know it)
2. Cab - Cost (if you know it)
3. Your oppinion of this combo
4. Any dist/overdrive pedal you think is good (i currently just have a Boss DS-1)
5. Anything else you want to say

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

I would guess to say a 5150, as alot of bands that use these amps tend to tune down to lower tunings. Many of them even down to B, which is what genrally a 7 string is supposed to be tuned to.

The 5150 is what I am planning to get at some point when I have enough cash together.
