Hey i was looking on craigslist and down between two different amps. A Peavey valveking 112 and a randall rg200g3plus. I can get either for $300 and the vk112 is in like new condition and the randall is brand new, his music store went out of business. On musiciansfriend, the randall sells for about $800. I just cant decide which one. I mostly play punk rock music like blink 182, mxpx. sum 41, jimmy eat world. ect. Please help me out.

Valveking would be better. Maybe throw an overdrive in front of it, for some more variation and better sound.

Make sure you have more money/ will have more money to spend on a peavey VK

as soon as you buy one you will want:

1) OD pedal ($50)
2) New Speaker ($80)
3) EQ pedal ($40-$120)
4) Possibly noise reduction pedal ($100-$120)
5) dummy jack ($2) for dummy jack mod
6) Patch cable ($5) for patch cable mod

Granted you don't NEED all of these but you'll want them

Honestly, TS would only need the dummy jack and patch cable mods, and MAYBE the OD and speaker in the long run.

The stock speaker isn't too bad for punk/indie... and the 'free' mods will help with the definition the genres require.

Although, I'd HIGHLY suggest a speaker change in the future.

VK is pretty good...
I'm not the BIGGEST fan of either of them (ain't what I'm used to), but I'd choose the VK...but try to bargin, ya'know?

i kind of want the randall but never reallly heard of the brand is it any good? i can hardly find any reviews over it

Randall makes amazing amps (look up their site), but I think I heard some bad things about a couple of select models in the RG line, not sure though. Personally though, for what you're looking for, the Valveking would be better. The Randall RGs are metal monsters.
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

Just wondering...why do you suggest a speaker change? I'm asking because I play the same type of music and I'm also looking at that amp.

Speaker change will clear some muddiness and give it some balls.

sorry, didn't see any 112 combo's

you could always get GC to order one for you. I bet they would do it without you paying. Either way, you have x number of days to return and x number of days to exchange for in-store.

Never played that Randall.

Also check your local CList for other amps in your budget range if you have not already.

You should go with the Valveking because you play punk. The Randall is more for metal
