So I always store my RG in my gator hardshell case but when I pick it up its cold? But it is also out of tune when I pick it up so im assuming this is an effect of the winter on it and not a trem issue? Anything I can do to help keep my axe warm the temp in my house is set at 71 but its still cold.

Temp does out-o-tune your strings. This is normal. However, it shouldn't be a problem unless you're dealing with extreme, eskimo-pussy and witches tit situations.

Don't worry about electric guitars as much as acoustic solid wood guitars. Humidity plays a bigger value than temp... I left my 88 ibanez S540 out in the back of a truck in Canada one night. It was -20 C ... no problems, i use it today ... I might be cautious about leaving any guitar in the sun though
