Well, since every other thread I see is beginners wanting songs, I've decided to compile a list. PLEASE don't post in here to flame me about my song selection, as I'm completley open to suggestions as long as you don't flame.

I've listed them in order by genre...

EDIT: I've added the "Blues" and "Country" sections due to suggestions. I've aslo added MOST of the songs suggested, some were a bit to hard for beginners...

mm. which category?

They deserve their own category of Epic Beginner Songs.
#12
sorry to be a kill joy here, but there is an identical thing already in the Tab Talk forum
#13
Beginners wont search for tabs they search for songs. When they type in Easy Beginner Songs on google, they get refered here. Instant non-noobification.

Besides in this one you don't post tabs, and it not all over the place.

Fundamentely different, but cosmetically similar. Kinda like a white guy and Micheal Jackson.

Add Blink-182 Adam's Song, it is pop-punk but either will do.

UG Mods really have no sense of humour.....

#23
you guys should put a "blues" category.
Although, I don't know many blues songs.
#24
Country is a good starting position seeing as alot of the songs are pretty simple.. maybe compile some country into your list=]

Like others have said there are already several other iterations of this. Most notably this: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=636381&page=1&pp=20

Plus a lot of the songs you have on your list aren't actually beginner songs. There's a difference between someone being able to learn a couple riffs from a song and learning the song in its entirety.

Aint Talkin Bout Love by Van Halen is pretty easy.

plug in any group and it'll spit out easy song for it.

Crossroads; Cream or Robert Johnson, both aren't that hard if you can improvise the solos.

Communication Breakdown; Led Zeppelin. Open E string for five hits, then an A bar chord, E bar chord, and a B bar chord on the chorus. Improvise the solos and it's easy.

Smells Like Teen Spirit; Nirvana. Re-invented Smoke On The Water in the 90's.

(I Can't Get No)Satisfaction; Rolling Stones. Riff is three notes. Whole song is those four plus three chords.

Hope those help.

Big Sur Moon by Buckethead should be under 'Instrumental'. The hardest part of the song is getting the right delay settings.
