Hi guys, I have this habit and i don't know if it's a bad one or not.

Basically, i like to rest my middle finger, ring finger and pinky below the strings and only pluck using my thumb and index finger.

Is this a bad habit? cos i see many guitarists that actually pluck with almost all their fingers. Should i change my habit?

Thanks!

When you start to lear more complex fingerpicking songs then you will certainly need to use all your fingers, either for speed or for plucking chords. I play with rest the edge of my picking hand (edga facing away from me) on the bridge, but lightly so that it can move around.

You'll need to practice using all your fingers, yes. And make sure you don't rest your hand on the bridge while picking either.
