I put a 1 gb MicroSD card in my phone because I got tired of having to clear my inbox as soon as I had 100 text messages. With the card in, on the phone menu titled "Memory" it says I can hold 300 text messages. However when I reach 100 messages, the phone says "Inbox Full, Delete Msgs"

Any Ideas?

probably your phone cant hold more than 100 messages, its the phone, not the card

You have to switch your storage system from phone to card. Depending on what phone it is, it's more than likely easy.

First of all, a 1GB MicroSD card should be able to hold well over 300 messages.
Second of all, you probably need to mess with the settings, to "activate" the SD memory. How to do that depends on the phone model you have.

don't use your phone as much, then it won't fill up as quickly

Nice Logic.

You have to save your messages to the SD card. Your phone's memory can still only hold 100 messages. Now you can just keep lots of saved messages.

Since when did people save their messages on MicroSD cards?

I only use mine for music, videos, pictures and recordings

My phone can hold 300 messages itself anyway.

My phone, for one, can also hold about 300 messages, but when its memory is full, all further messages are saved on the SD. I can hold thousands of messages like this if I wanted to, but I erase all messages from time to time, even before the phone memory is full.

Well lucky you! ...
Mine holds 100 messages without a card, I've set all memory things to card memory and it still only holds 100. If it matters, it's an LG Scoop

Well, mine is an LG as well. Maybe you should set your message memory to phone. I think you've got your SIM card confused with the memory card.

Most SIMS only hold about 100 contacts and 100 messages.

here's your problem.

seriously, I have a Sony Ericsson T303, which has 8MB internal memory (a 128th of 1GB) and it can hold 250 texts. It's not a question of how much memory your phone has, but how much it allocates to texts. Some bright spark at LG has thought that no-one would ever want to store more than 100 texts, so the phone is limited to that. My old LG chocolate could only hold 150 between the inbox and the outbox and it has 128MBs of memory onboard (16 times what my new phone holds).

In short, there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Delete your texts more often.
You're using UG classic, congratulations.
You should be using UG classic.
