I am thinking of getting this amp with a guitar but it appears from the reveiws that te clean on it is slightly rubbish. I play mainly distortion so thats what made me pick this one, but suppose i want a clean i heard some one on the reveiwpage talk about using a effect pedal to make up for it. What type? What effect?

Please explain

Thanks

The cleans on the 6505 can sound a little bland to some.

Something like a reverb, or a light chorus or delay can help thicken up and add character to your cleans.

That's just a case for pedals - it doesn't actually come with any effects.

You CAN'T polish a turd.

Its not a turd you dolt

To get good cleans on a 6505 you do the following:

1) Toggle crunch mode.
2) Lower pre gain knob to .5
3) Increase post gain to whatever you want.

Its a two channel amp, with no reverb, that has good cleans and amazing overdrive. Leave it at that.

The only reason the cleans are iffy is that on the clean mode the amp is only utilizing a single preamp tube. On the crunch mode it uses 3, which allows more complexity.

I have built more rigs and own more gear than you're ever likely to see, let alone have experience playing with... The cleans on that amp are lame.

I will excuse your name calling, figuring you simply don't have a tonal frame of reference to comprehend what I was comparing to.

BTW, the reason the cleans are iffy, is because you can't polish a turd.
