http://news.aol.com/article/facebook-policy-angers-nursing-moms/291439?icid=100214839x1216605639x1201074936

heres a little bit of it:

(Jan. 1) - Web-savvy moms who breast-feed are irate that social networking sites like Facebook and restrict photos of nursing babies. The disputes reveal how the sites' community policing techniques sometimes struggle to keep up with the booming number and diversity of their members.
Facebook began as a site just for college kids, but now it is an online home for 140 million people from all over the world. Among the new faces of Facebook are women like Kelli Roman, 23, who last year posted a photo of herself nursing one of her two children.
One day, she logged on to find the photo missing. When she pressed Facebook for an explanation, she got form e-mails in return.

Facebook bars people from uploading anything "obscene, ographic or ually explicit" — a policy that translates into a ban on pictures depicting certain amounts of exposed flesh.
Roman responded by starting a Facebook group called "Hey, Facebook, breastfeeding is not !"
"There is nothing about bottle-feeding a child that has to be discreet," said Roman, who lives in Fallbrook, Calif., in an interview. "With breast-feeding, it should be the exact same way."

Personally, I dont care if those pictures are up there.... they arent or anything.... a little weird but not offensive.

But I dont understand why a mom would put a picture of that up in the first place??? Lol. But what ever they want to do.

So basically pictures of boobs obscured by babies heads are now not allowed.

I think I can deal with that considering I know where to see the whole thing.

With jizz on.

exactly, thats like us complaining about the lolwut pear being banned. The moderators had enough, they drew the line, they got rid of it. Obviously the mods of facebook were like okay "this much flesh" is acceptable, and "this much" isn't. They can't change a rule because there's also a baby in the picture. And it's nothing to do with the whole breastfeeding in public thing.

I do find the ruling slightly strange since I'm pretty sure you have to be 18 to go on facebook anyway

Not to cause offence, but this is typical of American society - sue and complain about everything you aren't happy with, no matter how ridiculous or trivial. It's not her website or server, so she should shut up and post it somewhere else instead. She has no right to tell other people/companies/websites what they can and can't allow on their own servers.

Political correctness is going to be the downfall of so many ordered societies at this rate.

Anybody else feel the urge to laugh at the fact that they're protesting facebook by making a group using facebook?

The child is unable to express his/her own will to appear on photo on the website. Pictures should not be allowed on children at all. Besides, children are ugly.
#31
who cares? Its not like there showing nipple.. which I dont see as bad anyway

but its there site, so they can what they want.
"You're a twat!"- That dude in morrisons

"You Were a Mistake!" - Mum

idk i say they should be allowed to keep that up, but it just draws the line for what is offensive or not offensive. Excessive cleavage will be next. Just watch.

druz15_UG, i know for a fact my 8 year old cousin in on facebook. there are so many people that are under 18 that are on there anyway, me included.

"I beg to differ."

I PERSONALLY don't find it offensive, but it doesn't really matter what anyone thinks except the administrators of Facebook.

I mean, it's a free service. They own the servers so they can decide what to leave up and what to take down. If this were a site that required payment from it's users I could understand, but it doesn't.

And I find it hilarious that they made a Facebook group to protest this.

"Hey, I don't like what Facebook is doing! Let's make a group ON FACEBOOK about it, I'm sure more advertising royalties will really make them see things our way!"

Facebook is probably happy with their decision.

Is it REALLY necessary to post a picture like that? What, can she not just settle for a picture of her face?

1: Nobody wants to see pics of your saggy tits
2: Tits are tits, even if a kid is sucking on them. If normal tits aren't allowed, saggy ones that are full of milk shouldn't either.
