Im not sure if there is already a topic on this genre...in fact there probably is but too far in.

Are there any other fans of dirty electro?

Justice - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uqJu_3CPhC4

sebastiAn - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=JPwfgsHBjWo (check out his remix of killing in the name of, pure filthy electro, loverly!)

Digitalism - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=NGI_UA18RsI

Kissy Sell Out - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QOvUSvpdh0g

Other bands/DJs like 2 many DJs/soulwax and Erol Alkan have some banging dirty electro tunes too, but I cant find decent quality clips on You of Tube.

Justice are easily one of the best bands of recent years, I listened to 'Cross' over and over and over. Saw them live in Belgium this Summer too, and it was amazing - and blew most of the rock n roll gigs ive been to out of the water. Even though they didn't play Newjack, which is one of my favourites theyre one of the top 3 bands Ive ever seen.

Not heard anything by KSO or Sebastian, but might check them out if I'm looking into furthering my electro journey

I like Soulwax and Digitalism, but nowhere near the extent I like Justice, nay, love Justice (E-Talking comes close though) just a few tracks here and there. Same with Does it Offend You, Yeah? if youve heard of them and if they fall under the same banner. I'd call it electro-rock or something similar.

Simian Mobile Disco are also amazing, some great tunes on their album but theyve got a more polished sound than all the others mentioned (rather suprisingly too, seeing as they input pretty much 100% of their beats in manually and left in most of the mistakes and imperfections to give it a more human feel).

But yeah, gotten well into electro in the last few years, as well as drum n bass and modern house music too - I think my appreciation for electronic music on the whole has risen dramatically - since it used to be The Prodigy, Faithless and The Chemical Brothers, and not much else that garnered my love and respect.

What would you class it as then? I think whatever genre you label that music as, its more than likely gunna have electro in its name.

And to Abe, I cant beleive I forgot Simian Mobile Disco, another great group, 'I Beleive' and 'Tits and acid' are choons. My friend is a DJ for XFM so he hears about all of these small-time electro/ indie-electro bands up and coming and shows me and all my mates them, some of them are immense, but none of them have any youtube vids or anything because they are that small.

.

Its electrohouse. Sounds more like breaks meets 80s new wave (which was called electroclash) than anything.

Fair do's I agree that what you posted was the original electro, but I personally wouldn't class Justice and the likes electrohouse, when I hear electrohouse I think of David Spoon and lisa whatever her name is, and bodyrox-esque music. But then again, alot of genre-naming does fly by me.

Nah, they are, but they're a bit more poppy sounding. You really should check out Noisia's single Seven Stitches/Groundhog
