I have a Mex Start HSS and for some reason it has a hell of a time staying in tune. If i tune each string and then hit a chord it is off, but open is fine. Would new tuners fix this or is this a warped neck? I just want to take it to a shop and ask, but I'd rather ask the world. It's cheaper.

So it's in tune on open notes, but when using frets it's off? Sounds like an intonation problem to me, not tuning, you need to adjust the saddles. Tune each string open, then play it on the 12th fret: If it's sharp turn the screw left until it's right on, then tune the open again
Edit: Or right, if it's flat

Anyone else see the irony in smashing a guitar that says "peace and love" ?

What trem do you have. If it's a floyd or of the like then your springs need to be tightened or loosened. The intonation may be out of wack. Check by hitting the open string it's in tune as you stated. Press any fret and check to see if it says what it should. If it's A it should be A.

Floating bridge. Yeah, looking at the saddles, they look like they need some TLC. Now I must find the wrench.

Thanks
