So, would the RX35DM be good?

Also, to enemy120, I know, but I can't afford anything more than that

Hmmm. Go for it, it might be a little loud, but if your just at home, I might suggest a Peavey Rage 158, they're 15w and sound like a 20-25w amp, and have very nice tone for a 100$ amp.

Go used?...

I bought my VK for $220. Along with a Bad monkey OD pedal ($50), a 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch dummy jack converter ($2), and a patch cable (5$) you can get some really kickass metallica tones. Its an easily mod-able amp so as you get better at guitar and get more money you can keep upgrading and buy pedals for it as you become a better musician.

so you are looking at $280 for a tube amp that can get great sounds and has PLENTY of volume so you won't need to upgrade to a new amp when that time comes.

OR you can buy a new B-52 AT-112 for $360. I haven't seen one ever go used but you can look for one it'd be under 300.

I'd get a VK and an OD (yes I'm sort of biased). Go used, GC sells used VKs for about 350, but you could get one for 250. Id also suggest a Vyper

Yeah, I've heard good things about the Vypers, you might also look at blackheart amps, their tube, but they're decent from what i heard, but might not give you the sound you want.

Their cheapest amp with a gain option is $350, out of his budget, plus it's only a head. You'd also need an OD to get into Metallica.

I think a (new) Vyper or a (used) combo ValveKing is your best bet. Try it out though, that is crucial.

I'd look at a used Valveking or possibly a used B-52 AT112, both can achieve a Metallica-esque if you spend the time tweaking with them, both are tube as well.
Got a question about Baritone guitars? Feel free to PM me.

Thanks to UG, I converted from Metalcore to some "real" Metal.

God thats exactly what i said. Right after i posted two great amps he asks about a roland cube.

Sure a cube is a decent amp, but a VK or a B-52 AT-112 would slay it any day.
