Ok boys and girls I'm looking for a guitar that's relatively metalish (EG can handle C tuning and not sound weaksauce) for about 2 grand NZ I have about 500 NZ now and I would prefer some sort of trem maybe

Quick note: $1 NZ = $0.58 to give you an idea

So you're looking for a guitar in the range of $1160.00?

Well, I'd recommend an ESP LTD EC-1000. Runs like $800 or so, I think.

Hi, I'm looking for some fruit, I can't decide between apples and oranges.
Which one is better?
Thanks

Get a Gibson Les Paul!!!

ESP's are really good also.

Gretsch guitars are nice...but they're not made for metal. lol

In my experience, while Gibson Les Pauls sound great, they tend to get out of tune very easily.

Also, they tend to cost like $1500+, so... that's not going to work.

Their Epiphone counterparts, however, would also be a good choice, as they're MUCH cheaper.

I know this guy with an Epiphone LP Custom with EMGs and some locking tuners and it sounds/plays amazing, and it costed well under a grand.

The kinda stuff I like to play varies from attempting Joe Satriani and Paul Gilbert to Dream Theater, Opeth and some Dethklok stuff (fun sounding) etc.

And no single pickups they aren't my kinda cup of tea anymore and Gibsons here are insanely expensive as with Gretsch or whatever. Hopes that helps a tad more

Edit: uh yeah I'm a bit left handed too ...
