So first i want to know if its worth getting a used MM2 OLP bass and changing the pickups to that of S.Duncans. Now does this sound like a good idea?

oh yea would i need to get a new preamp with the new pups?

no you won't have to get a different preamp but if the pickups are passive i'd probably stick with passive pickups. I don't know for sure but having active pickups and an active preamp sounds like it could cause noise and feedback.

I believe that any bass you like the feel of is worth it. so if you love the feel of the neck then it's totally worth it.
