F# is the root, A# is the major third, C# is the fifth (major triad) and the F is the 7th (semi tone down from the root)

And just to prove this guy right let's look at the F# Major scale and show how they fit in relation to the rest of the scale.

Gb, Ab, Bb, Cb, Db, Eb, F, Gb.

Gb and F# are enharmonic, I just organised it this way so that no letters are repeated.

So what key is this progression in?

F#Maj7 - A - Bm - D

F#Maj7
F#, A#, C#, F

A
A, C#, E

Bm
B, D, F#

D
D, F#, A

The F#Maj7 looks out of place a little here.
