My computer is acting all crazy-like.
It's been moving slow as **** lately, and now, my icons and start menu disappear about 5 seconds after they pop up. Luckily, I was able to click my Firefox icon before it disappeared, so that's why I'm able to post this.
But, to get to the point, why the hell would my icons disappear? And does anybody know how to fix this?

Stop looking at porn? maybe? ....no?...ya i cant stop neither...

I don't look at pr0n. I know...surprising from a male pitmonkey...whatever. The only way it could be pr0n is if my brother or father was looking at it...and I think my brother actually does...so it could be that.
I'll try to run a virus scan...kind of hard though whenever I can't click the icon to do it because it's not there.

Download this program called CCleaner. I'm serious by the way, Jacob Wang showed it to me, and it works well.

to get your icons back you can try to open task manager. click on run and then type in the program

explorer.exe

and hopefully you're icon and start bar will reappear.

Agreed. Used to happen to me all the time, the actual program that gives you nice things like the Start menu and windows and such is called Windows Explorer (not to be confused with Internet Explorer). Explorer.exe is in the Windows folder somewhere, try CTRL-ALT-DEL, New Task, and look for explorer.exe. The cause of this problem probably isn't a virus, more than likely some form of vicious malware.

I know, the headaches

Supedit: 99% of the time, System Restore (the factory version that comes with XP, at least) doesn't work

also, you if you managed to click on firefox, you shud be avle to click on the icon for an anti virus, if not, download and installl a new one (like AVG free version) and at the end of instalation the program shud open automatically.

sounds like a worm virus to me
if you have problems starting your virus scan program but can still start firefox, go to the McAfee website. They have a scanner that you can try that's right on their website.

My computer used to be fast... now it's only kinda-fast

Run a virus scan, stop viewing tranny-horse porn sites... etc.
