What you feel is natural I guess. What kinds of riffage do you like playing and do you also like singing (I know not all rhythms sing).

or are you a pokemon like Dave Mustaine in which case you can do everything including backwards flight.

If you listen to metal, then it's simply a matter of whether you prefer 'chuggachuggachugga' or 'blooblooblooWAAHH.'

If you have to ask yourself that question, you should be playing rhythm, as far as I'm concerned. Depending on how difficult the stuff you write is, it could vary.
#11
I prefer being a rhythm guitarist a LOT more than a lead guitarist. It CAN be hard, if you've tried some crazy Jazz chord changes.

This is not a valid excuse for such a question.

Well I think my hands are more comfortable with chord changes and the like instead of blistering solos so I choose rhythm. Will that work for you?

I'm a rhythm player. Its just more fun and natural to me. Instead of some riff i'd rather just play a few chords and sing.

EDIT: To redeath9

I don't think you were ever meant to play lead or rhythm, you should just try both and see which you prefer.

Learn to sing and play rythym.
If you like to sing and have a good voice that is.

I do that, but I'm just as capable at playing lead too.
My band doesnt have another guitarist, so that sorta limits our selection.
