hey everyone. as some may have seen im working on a mandolin build.

i have a transducer pickup i took off an old mandolin so im probably going to use it on my project. i dont want to spend a lot now as i dont know how it will sound or turn out and i dont really need a top quality pickup to use all the time.

my question is if i can add a volume knob some how. as of now its just the pickup to a jack that mounts on the endpin. is there a way i could put a volume knob in between. for low cost as well.

thanks

Well you probably could. Just stick a potentiometer in there.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a isn't a potentiometer just a variable resistor that changes how much current it resists, thus being a volume dial?

You are being very sparse on the information given. I could go find a dozen different transducer pups for a mandolin out there. Also triple posting, with two edits is a little excessive.

and to Pain. how much more info could i give. its a no name pickup. 10 in of wire to a jack. thats it. i figured someone would be able to help. i didnt think it was a crazy question.
