I don't have the room for a 4x12, but I currently have a 2x12 combo in my house.

As I'm getting more and more gigs, I'd like to be able to get a head and take that around places, as opposed to my amp.

Can anyone recommend any good 2x12 cabs?

Thanks in advance.

sir, i would like to inform you that you are now my favorite UGer. Not only did you use the word y'all, which is native to my homeland, but you correctly punctuated it using the apostrophe.

I'm currently using a Crate GTX 212, but looking to get rid of and get a head and cab.

Preferrably a valveking or a Bugera 333xl.

I play Hard/Southern Rock, Grunge, blues, and lots of solo oriented stuff, but I'm getting in to playing lots of metal too, coz it's challenging and fun, so I'd like the versatility. Head I wanna get is still a little undecided in all honesty. I'd like a high-gain tube amp, but I've got an MXR Wylde Overdrive if I need to boost it moreso.

Do Avatar do good amp heads? Or are they just a cab company?

avatar is great and you have so many options with them, also their a lot cheaper than some other cabs with the same features. They are definitely gig worthy and super well built so their sturdy.

Avatars are REALLY good for the price, I've learned the hard way.

I building a 1x12 cab with a vintage 30 in it, and the cab will end up costing around $180, plus it wont look professional until I figure out how the hell to cut a damn circle and put tolex on it. On avatar, they cost like $250 after shipping and whatever, but its not worth the time unless you like DIY

Moral: Buying cabs isnt a rip off, just replace the speaker if the cab is built solid to change the sound.

Does anybody have an avatar website/know who stocks them in England/Anything further on them?

Don't bother with a VK head. The VK is a budget amp - no need to spend more on it than the 1x12 combo costs.

What would you recommend? I won't be getting a new amp until Autumn because then I can get student loans =]

I'll have between £800 and £1k by then to spend on an amp.

The Orange PPC2x12 cab is excellent, really well built and comes equipped with V30's, failing that there's a Framus 2x12 on Thomann too

It's really hard to find cheap cabs in the UK to be honest...

Nah I'm afraid not, althought Vader do now ship to Europe, as their prices are in Euros that makes them very expensive for UK citizens because of the economy atm.

For example the 2x12 costs 460 Euros = 440 pounds.
