i got my guitar set up *kramer with floyd rose* and the second and third fret on the 6th string sound exactly the same and it just is a really bad sound. is it the action?? both frets sound like the first fret

poor fret craftsmanship. im not sure, but i think it can be fixed by adjusting the action.

usually when that happens, it's because one of the frets is higher, in this case the 3rd

what is happening is, when you fret the 2nd, the 3rd one is actually higher, so the string rests on that instead

so what do i do then? shave the third down somehow? raise action?

could raise your action, get a professional to sand down the fret, or you could sand it down yourself. look for a tutorial online somewhere though.

It could be the action is too low this can happen to any guitar, even the most expensive guitar.
