Try to get a used one.

I got a DX7 for 170$CDN.

So, you can get pretty much any simple synth for that price range when used.
Because you won't get anything new that's worth it at this price.

Try some out... and with keyboards, well you don't have to worry about tonewoods and intonation and all that stuff, so it should be easier to find one to your liking! (as opposed to guitar shopping, which could take ages to find one you like)

Get one of those cool ones that's wireless and waterproof and can be scrunched up to fit in your pocket. I don't know what they cost, though.

Get one thats cheap that you can hook up to a laptop.

Then get good midi software for your computer so that the keyboard sounds amazing!
Does being successful truly make you a sell out? Can't you do your own original music and be successful because of it?
