Well, what do you want? Do you want a fuzz? Do you want a distortion or OD?
Personally I dont like peavey transtubes, so some may recommend to sell the amp and save for a decent one.

If I were you and if you like your amp, I would get a fuzz because I like fuzzes, but if your distortion is lacking Id look into OCD. I like the Boss Blues Driver, but you have to play pedals to see what you want

with that budget and all that you want I would really recommend a multi-effects pedal. Look into the cheaper Digitech pedals.

If you want to get really technical about it..

1. Grab sticks.
2. Bang sticks on drums.

well then what amp would you recomend?

Whats the upper limit of your budget?
What genres?
Where do you live? <-used market/craiglist
How much headroom do you need? (Wattage?)
Head or combo?
If head, do you have a cab?
What gear do you already own?

Id start a new thread and delete this one. Answer those questions

How so? He didn't say in the OP that he was looking for a new amp, and no pedal on earth can really improve the tone of that amp, so he might as well get all the effects he is asking for.
