I have only been playing guitar for about six months,

and well out of my birthday money i want to buy a amplifier,

i want it to be at least 30 watts but i dont really want to pay that much for it since im only starting out. its not like im going to be giging with it...

Any suggestions of amps.

Just wondering whats your budget? I'm thinking the peavey vypr will be the best choice.

Probably about £100

I think the Vypyr 30w is £149 but the Cube 30X is only £118 if that helps, though frankly I'd save the extra £31 for the Vypyr as it's much better.

The Peavey Vypyr or the Roland Cube are good starting amps, the Vypyr is going to do Metal better than the Cube, but imo the cube is more versatile.

Try going to a local guitar store and trying both out side-by-side and comparing them for yourself to see which one sounds best to you .

Thanks to UG, I converted from Metalcore to some "real" Metal.
