to help teach me to fingerpick on acoustic?

I already play electric guitar but really enjoy acoustic music, John Butler in perticular. Does anyone know any good books to help teach me the fingerpicking technique and to take it further?

Thanks.

ah cheers man.

Nope, in england, KENT. Like you it appears? haha

Edit: your from maidstone?!?!!?

Rainham actually, just over thw Hill.

I knew a girl from around here who's nickname was Moomin!

Small world isn't it!

Funny really. I hardly play anything much, because I haven't taught myself to strum, so I fingerpick instead. This is harder, apparently.

I sort of, "play on" the guitar, rather than "play guitar" LOL!

Whereabouts are you sir?

Yeah, just over Boxley Hill then mate!

Don't teach guitar do you?

There is a decent guitar teacher who lives n the A20 just past Willington St. Not sure if he teaches fingerpicking, but he may.

I'm not sure about a good book, but an awesome song to practice it with is 'Dust in the Wind' by Kansas. It's a good song, too.

Oh, DON'T use a knife. It cuts through your strings. I did that once, thinking, its the Low E, its invincible. Turns out, its not...
