I was wonering if it was possible to take strings for a 7-string guitar and put them on my 6-string Ibenez RG, without the high e, so the tuning would be BEADGb, without much adjustment to the setup.

why not? they are the same strings on a 7 or 6 string guitar, only that the 7 strings guitar have an extra one

EDIT: I didnt got your question, the thing you want to do, well, I think you could damage your ibanez

There would be a lot more tension. I'm sure that you would have to make quite a few adjustments.

that's what I thought, but one of my friends put 6-string bass strings on his 5-string bass, but he took off his low B and moved up all the strings and put on a high c string, without messing anything up, but he went higher, not lower,so maybe thats different.

your nut would probably need the slot for the low E recut to accomidate the B, nd you might need bridge/intonation/truss rod adjustments, but it should be fine.

What he said. You are a wise man for not buying into the hype.

ya hear that...he thinks im wise

why would you pay more for a 7 string set whne you could just buy a set of 13s or something it would be the same

but you would probably have to file the nut maybe adjust the neck
