I have a Dean Pace Bass.

I was thinking of adding a preamp. I like the type that are used in the ABG. I have a spare similar this one:

Here are my questions. Can I connect the bridge directly to the preamp like a strip piezo? Does it need it still need to be grounded? When Dean first made the bass it had a buffer. The buffers kept going bad so Dean made it passive. It wires to a volume pot then the output jack.

I am still searching through all the threads here. There is plenty of good information. I have just not seen this addressed yet.

I am still trying to find a clear answer on this. Can I run the piezo bridge directly into the preamp like on an acoustic bass? Or does the piezo bridge need to be grounded since it is metal?
