I'm looking to buy new pickups for my gibson explorer. The bridge pickup doesnt seem very articulate and muddy and the neck pickup is overly bassy and also lacks articuation. I play everything from very clean to a little overdrive to hard rock type distortion. My amp is a mesa f 50 and an avatar 2x12 with vintage 30's.

Seymour Duncan '59s or the SH2N/SH4 combo would probably work pretty well.

WCRs were the best thing to ever happen to my les paul in terms of gaining clarity and articulation. Expensive though...

budget?
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

would those really fix the problems he's having, though? based on what he doesn't like about his current pickups, if you ask me, the jazz and jb are likely to have similar problems... unless they sound vastly different in an explorer (which they may do).
