ok, I know quite about about tabs ans stuff, but i looked at a lesson and a tab (lay down- priestess) and found a few terms i didn't know. so...

What is...
*Sweep-picking
*a trill

and

what does "r" stand for in a tab? in the Lay down solo there's a part that says 15br. i know b means bend, but what does the r mean? help with any of the three would be really awesome! thanks!

sweep picking is like when you basically sweep your pick across strings, its a hard technigue. trill picking is really fast alternate picking, like in eruption

Sweep picking is like strumming a chord (but not as fast) and playing each note individually. A very quick and impressive and difficult technique to master. A trill is like a hammer on and pull off between two frets very quickly, repeatedly. the br could stand for bend, release ( so you bend up then down to the original note)

Here you go:

An R in tabs means release, for example 12br means 12 bend and release

sweep picking is when you play an arpeggio very quickly, making sure your picking hand and fretting hands move at the same pace. it's called sweeping because you don't hit each string individually, you "sweep" down the strings and neck.

a trill is when you start with a note, and hammer-on/pull-off to a higher note, then go back to the first note.

Hope that helped
