Trying to figure out what amp this is, I thought it was the classic 100 but after looking at a Google image of a c100 I am sure that's not what this amp is. I asked the seller but thought I would see if anyone on here could figure it out. Its suppose to be 100 watts.

I think you guys might be right. I've never seen a C100 head, let alone with that funky oval. You said you found this on Google or Craigslist? Is customer selling a C100 stack?

either way, what are they asking and where

seriously, may not be all that bad.

It is a 100 Transtube Supreme head, Heres a picture of a Classic 100 head in tweed, it looks very similar, but the knobs are what through up the red flag. But as you can see they look very similar.
311ZOSOVHJH, Its for sale on Craigs list in Springfeild MO, the seller had 425 on the head with a peavey MS412 cab, All seller said was peavey 100 halfstack, and the first thing that jumped into my mind when I saw it was the C100 head, but thought the knobs looked a little off.

also what are they asking for the head?

I wouldn't pay over 300 bucks for it I bought mine for 200.

Also the head only really sounds good through a good cab.

I already have a 412 cab loaded with Celestion G12k-85s and really I am looking for a Head, mostly for back up/practice. In the add they where asking 425 for the entire setup, I inquired about the head only, thinking it was the C100, and he said he could sell it for 200 dollars. I was thinking this deal almost has to be to good to be true, so I replied and asked what model it was, and as you guys confirmed, it was to good to be true. I am not really interested at all in the Supreme, I am looking for a good deal on a Peavey VTM, but I would never pass on a classic if I could find one cheap enough to make some money on. I use to have a C30 and loved that amp, but the VTM is what I am seeking. Thanks for all your help.

wait...why do you need a c30? for the cleans?

From what i heard the cleans are very simular to the XXX if im not mistaken.

the VTM is pretty crappy when i played it.

Just because something has a tube in it doesnt mean its better than a amp without a tube.

^ I don't need any amp the triple is awesome, I just want something for backup and practice. The VTM's are awesome if your into JCM800 tones, check out these clips http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gg4IuX_Ifkg&feature=related

^ how did the Vyprs get drug into this mess? The VTM is a late 80s early 90 JCM 800 clone.
