I'm new to the Floyd Rose tremolo system, so this might sound stupid. Are the locking nuts supposed to completely stop the tuners on the headstock from affecting the string or just make it harder for them to affect the tuning?
ok, thanks. I thought that was the case. i'm not sure what the problem is, but i can't get it to completely stop it on some strings. any suggestions? i've been told not to tighten the nuts much more than hand tighten, but the nuts are still too loose.
You can use the allan key/hex wrench to tighten it, just don't over tighten it because you can snap the threads on the screws. Tighten it enough so it won't easily tighten any more when using the key
