It means that it needs to be plugged into a preamp/mixer which provides power to the mic. Condensers need this, dynamics dont.

i would check your specific board before buying the mic. i had a problem where i couldnt use my mic because the cheap interface i used to have did not have phantom power

it needs to be plugged into a board/interface/preamp that has phantom power, most boards and preamps have it but some interfaces do not.

i have a line 6 KB37..is that gonna work?

it has a 48volt switch in the back i think that might be for phantom power
