I have somthing i want to do but i dont want to mess up my basses

I want to put gibson thunderbird pickups on the Epiphone Nikki Sixx Blackbird. Im saving for the pickups but should i do it? Or leave the Deep Sixx on the Blackbird? Maybe mix them up?

Ideas? Like for what would sound best?

mod it for a mid position single coil and a tone knob or 2, you will have a bass much more versatile. and cool sounding. mud isn't bad at all when you mix in a bunch of single coily growl.

in b4 "buy another bass" comments.

In reply to the TC, I'd recommend avoiding gibson pickups and getting something more reputable (and more versatile in general), like a seymour duncan of some kind, although I'm not exactly sure what would fit the housing on your blackbird.

Bartolini makes a Thunderbird pickup, and I'm positive that it's miles better than its Gibson counterpart.

Be sure to rape the blue note (augmented 4th). Rape it hard and exploit it like the skank it is.

Hmmm i'll look into those.

Would the epiphone pickups be good to?

The epiphone bird sounds just as good as the gibson in my opinion
