To put it very bluntly, you're not going to get a good crunch tone out of a Line 6 Spider III. You're just plain not.
Yes, I know everything. No, I can't play worth a damn.

Quick, grab a flameshield. That's not a very loved amp in these parts...

Any chance you can return it?

what are your settings right now?

i have got perfectly usable sounds out of thse amps, so people can shut up.
if the amp is brand new, i would reccomend taking it back because there are better things, but its a perfectly good amp to learn on.

yeah its only a few months old...

Ive mainly been having it quite distorted really but i just wanna take it down a little bit, i want to have the power and "umph" if you know what i mean but not too much so people can actualyy hear what im playing rather than just noise...

im probably not making much sense....lol

well at the minute while trying to get the decent sound..

the dial is on crunch, the drive is around 5, bass 4, mid 4, treble 7...

i would just try turning the treble down a bit, maybe even boost the bass and mids. try it with very little drive and slowly turn it up until you like what you hear.

You could take it to get pawned, and then buy a vypyr.
Then look in the vypyr thread to get the best tone out of it.
